Cleaning Your Airsoft Revolver

The key to having a long lasting Airsoft revolver is to always keep it clean and regularly oil the moving parts within the revolver. The last thing you want is your Airsoft revolver to jam up on you while you are playing a game of Airsoft. Depending on the style of revolver you own, the parts that you usually will be cleaning are basically the same. The only difference would be in a spring Airsoft revolver you'll have the spring to grease up to keep it moving smoothly. This article will explain the main parts of a revolver that you should mainly focus on when cleaning.

The barrel of a revolver is important to keep clean due to the fact that the BB travels through it and if it has junk or dirt built up in it the BB could end up getting suck and jamming up the Airsoft gun. My advice is to clean the barrel with special rod made to insert into the barrel with an micro fiber cloth at the end to get as much of the dirt and grim out of it. You should also add a little bit of gun oil to lube the inside of the barrel to keep it polished and smooth for the BBs to travel through.

Next in line to clean is the cylinder chamber, this is where the bullets are placed and the BBs are loaded into the bullets. Just like the barrel I recommend cleaning it the same exact way with a micro fiber cloth and some gun oil to lube it up. You will also want to check the align of the cylinder with the barrel, making sure that it is straight and align perfectly. If it is not you should make the proper adjustments, which is quite simple by basically tightening a few screw once you have the cylinder align with the barrel.

The extractor rod isn't to crucial but it will still need to be wiped down and oiled up just to keep it from sticking, the main purpose to the extractor rod is to extract the dispense cartridge after firing. The lasting you want in a game is not being able to load your cylinder chamber with bullets.

Hammer is the cocking mechanism of the revolver, this is what compress the spring in a Airsoft spring revolver or opens the valve for a gas powered revolver. All we do here is a simple wipe down and oiling. The hammer hardly fails and it pretty sturdy and resistant to dirt and grim.

Cleaning the spring in an Airsoft revolver is only need in a spring powered Airsoft revolver, typically the springs is the first to get worn out and needs replacement. that is why you should always check you spring before and after every game to see if it compress fine and it not jamming up. Changing out a spring in a revolver can be tricky but each model of Airsoft revolver comes with a manual on the specific way to replace them.
